The Master's Degree Programme in Advanced Financial Information Systems is two years of academic studies that leads to a M.Sc. (Econ.) degree from the Department of Accounting at the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration in Helsinki, Finland. It is intended to give intensive training in developing, managing, and auditing next-generation financial information systems.
As the Internet connects a larger and larger percentage of all the computers in the world, new ways of trade and management emerge. Electronic commerce, utilizing advanced XML-based EDI and digital money, changes the environment in which companies operate, and the companies themselves, in sometimes unexpected ways.
As this happens, enormous demand is building up for new kinds of financial information systems that enable companies to take advantage of the possibilities that the Internet offers. Companies need to build systems that make electronic commerce a cost-effective, secure proposition. They need to build systems that enable them to manage their business processes in new, rapidly reacting and adapting ways.
And for that, they need professionals who understand how. They need you!
This program is for people who have completed studies, equivalent to a B.Sc. or BBA level degree, that have included basic elements of business economics, accounting and information systems. Neither a very technical nor a very business-oriented background is required – only a willingness to learn.
The tenth program will run from September 2010. The deadline for applications will be early in 2010.
