How to transfer files using the WinSCP program:
- Provided that you have downloaded the program on your computer from the following link:
http://pafis.shh.fi/reference/software.html, you choose the Stored sessions option of the
program, and you click the New button displayed on the right side of the WinSCP Login
window. Kindly see the picture below.
- You will notice that you will be moved to the Basic tab where you will need
to specify the name of the host computer to which you want to connect, and your PAFIS user
id, just like it is illustrated in the picture below. Please do not enter your password. It is much better for security reasons.
- You go back to Stored sessions tab, and you hit the Save button. You will
save the session as pafis_user_id@pafis.shh.fi. See the picture below.
- Now, you have established a connection between your home computer and your home directory on pafis
server. If you click once on the saved session, first a window will pop up where you will
need to insert your pafis password. Afterwards, you will get an interface which displays on
the left side the directory hierarchy on your home computer, and on the right side your
directory hierarchy on the pafis computer. Please see the picture below.
- The files are transfered between pafis server and your computer, by simply dragging them between the two windows.
